DESCRIPTION:Gründungsfabrik Rheingau (Rheingau Start-up Factory) and its partners are once again looking for your innovative and extraordinary ideas and business models this year. Are you a school pupil\, university student\, alumnus or staff member at a school or university in the Rheingau-Taunus district\, or someone from the Rheingau-Taunus district with ideas that tackle environmental\, innovative\, social or societal issues in an entrepreneurial way? Then you’ve come to the right place! \nThe categories: Which one suits you best? \nCategory 1: Best business idea from schools and universities \nPrizes will be awarded to the three best entrepreneurial ideas from school pupils\, university students or staff at schools or universities based in the Rheingau-Taunus district. Also eligible to enter are anyone with a start-up idea who has made use of the start-up consultancy services or programmes offered by Gründungsfabrik Rheingau since 1 January 2024. \nYour idea does not need to have been implemented\, but it should be clear that it is feasible. This will improve your chances with the judging panel. \nCategory 2: Best start-up from the district’s universities and higher education institutions \nAwards will be given to the three best entrepreneurial business models implemented since 1 January 2024 by students\, alumni or staff of the colleges and universities based in the district – EBS University\, Geisenheim University of Applied Sciences and Fresenius University of Applied Sciences – as well as participants in programmes run by the Rheingau Start-up Factory. \nYour business may already have been set up\, but the intention to set it up should at least be clearly evident. Business operations do not necessarily have to have commenced yet. \nCategory 3: Best start-up from the Rheingau-Taunus district \nThe three best entrepreneurial ideas from residents of the Rheingau-Taunus district\, launched since 1 January 2024\, will be recognised. \nYour business may already have been set up\, but the intention to set it up should at least be clearly evident. Business operations do not necessarily have to have commenced yet. There must be a clear link to the Rheingau-Taunus district. \nThe prizes: a kick-start for your start-up \nThe start-up prize won’t finance your dream\, but it aims to give your idea and its further development a little boost and provide you with a platform. \nAs participants in Category 1\, you have the chance to win €1\,500 (1st place)\, €1\,000 (2nd place) or €500 (3rd place). \nThe most promising start-ups in Categories 2 and 3 will receive €2\,500 (1st place)\, €1\,500 (2nd place) and €750 (3rd place). \nNow for the important bit: these are the dates you should make a note of right away \nApplication period: from now until 19 October 2026 \nAnnouncement of finalists: early November 2026 \nPitch final and awards ceremony: 3 December 2026 at the “Neues Forum” at EBS University in Oestrich-Winkel \nThe jury: these are the people you need to impress \nYour ideas and projects will be scrutinised in a two-stage selection process by a jury comprising sponsors and representatives from the two universities. \nStage 1: Selection of the best entries for the final by the jury \nStage 2: In the final\, you’ll need to win over not only the jury but also the audience at the “Neues Forum” at EBS University. Voting is weighted as follows: 70% jury and 30% audience. \nThanks to our partners \nThe Rheingau-Taunus Start-up Award has been supported from the outset by the main sponsor\, Rheingauer Volksbank\, and the Rheingau-Taunus District Economic Development Agency. Furthermore\, Christian Werner and Werner Elektrotechnik are once again supporting the award this year\, as is the Wiesbaden Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) as a new partner. We would like to take this opportunity to extend our heartfelt thanks to all our supporters. \n\n\nGeneral conditions: A few rules for taking part \n\nApplications may be submitted by individuals or teams.\nApplications may only be submitted for one category.\nThe categories in detail:\n\nCategory 1: Open to business ideas from school pupils\, students and staff\nCategory 2: Open to start-ups founded by students\, alumni or staff of the universities based in the RTK\, established after 1 January 2024.\nCategory 3: Open to founders based in the Rheingau-Taunus district\, with start-ups established after 1 January 2024.\n\n\nEntries must include: A brief description of the start-up idea and a pitch deck containing a maximum of 10 slides and all relevant information.\nDocuments must be submitted via the application form below.\nAt least one team member undertakes to represent the team at the pitch final and awards ceremony on 3 December 2025.\nApplicants confirm that the business ideas or business models they have submitted are their own original work and do not infringe any third-party rights.\nParticipants consent to their personal data\, in particular their names and email addresses\, being stored beyond the duration of the competition.\nThe prize winners consent to their names and a brief description of their ideas being announced during the awards ceremony\, and subsequently on the website and social media channels of Gründungsfabrik Rheingau and its partners/sponsors\, as well as in a press release.\nThe prize winners agree that photographs and videos of the event may also be used by Gründungsfabrik and its partners/sponsors following the event.\nProviding false information during registration or in connection with the submission will result in disqualification.\n\nWe look forward to an exciting competition
