Gr\u00fcndungsfabrik Rheingau (Rheingau Start-up Factory) and its partners are once again looking for your innovative and extraordinary ideas and business models this year. Are you a school pupil, university student, alumnus or staff member at a school or university in the Rheingau-Taunus district, or someone from the Rheingau-Taunus district with ideas that tackle environmental, innovative, social or societal issues<\/strong> in an entrepreneurial way? Then you\u2019ve come to the right place!<\/p>\n

The categories: Which one suits you best?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Category 1: Best business idea from schools and universities<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Prizes will be awarded to the three best entrepreneurial ideas from school pupils, university students or staff at schools or universities based in the Rheingau-Taunus district. Also eligible to enter are anyone with a start-up idea who has made use of the start-up consultancy services or programmes offered by Gr\u00fcndungsfabrik Rheingau since 1 January 2024.<\/p>\n

Your idea does not need to have been implemented, but it should be clear that it is feasible. This will improve your chances with the judging panel.<\/p>\n

Category 2: Best start-up from the district\u2019s universities and higher education institutions<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Awards will be given to the three best entrepreneurial business models implemented since 1 January 2024 by students, alumni or staff of the colleges and universities based in the district \u2013 EBS University, Geisenheim University of Applied Sciences and Fresenius University of Applied Sciences \u2013 as well as participants in programmes run by the Rheingau Start-up Factory.<\/p>\n

Your business may already have been set up, but the intention to set it up should at least be clearly evident. Business operations do not necessarily have to have commenced yet.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Category 3: Best start-up from the Rheingau-Taunus district<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The three best entrepreneurial ideas from residents of the Rheingau-Taunus district, launched since 1 January 2024, will be recognised.<\/p>\n

Your business may already have been set up, but the intention to set it up should at least be clearly evident. Business operations do not necessarily have to have commenced yet. There must be a clear link to the Rheingau-Taunus district.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The prizes: a kick-start for your start-up<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The start-up prize won\u2019t finance your dream, but it aims to give your idea and its further development a little boost and provide you with a platform.<\/p>\n

As participants in Category 1, you have the chance to win \u20ac1,500 (1st place), \u20ac1,000 (2nd place) or \u20ac500 (3rd place).<\/p>\n

The most promising start-ups in Categories 2 and 3 will receive \u20ac2,500 (1st place), \u20ac1,500 (2nd place) and \u20ac750 (3rd place).<\/p>\n

Now for the important bit: these are the dates you should make a note of right away<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Application period:<\/strong> from now until 19 October 2026<\/p>\n

Announcement of finalists:<\/strong> early November 2026<\/p>\n

Pitch final and awards ceremony:<\/strong> 3 December 2026 at the \u201cNeues Forum\u201d at EBS University in Oestrich-Winkel<\/p>\n

The jury: these are the people you need to impress<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Your ideas and projects will be scrutinised in a two-stage selection process by a jury comprising sponsors and representatives from the two universities.<\/p>\n

Stage 1: Selection of the best entries for the final by the jury<\/p>\n

Stage 2: In the final, you\u2019ll need to win over not only the jury but also the audience at the \u201cNeues Forum\u201d at EBS University. Voting is weighted as follows: 70% jury and 30% audience.<\/p>\n

General conditions: A few rules for taking part<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

  • Applications may be submitted by individuals or teams.<\/li>\n
  • Applications may only be submitted for one category.<\/li>\n
  • The categories in detail:\n
      \n
    • Category 1: Open to business ideas from school pupils, students and staff<\/li>\n
    • Category 2: Open to start-ups founded by students, alumni or staff of the universities based in the RTK, established after 1 January 2024.<\/li>\n
    • Category 3: Open to founders based in the Rheingau-Taunus district, with start-ups established after 1 January 2024.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
    • Entries must include: A brief description of the start-up idea and a pitch deck containing a maximum of 10 slides and all relevant information.<\/li>\n
    • Documents must be submitted via the application form below.<\/li>\n
    • At least one team member undertakes to represent the team at the pitch final and awards ceremony on 3 December 2025.<\/li>\n
    • Applicants confirm that the business ideas or business models they have submitted are their own original work and do not infringe any third-party rights.<\/li>\n
    • Participants consent to their personal data, in particular their names and email addresses, being stored beyond the duration of the competition.<\/li>\n
    • The prize winners consent to their names and a brief description of their ideas being announced during the awards ceremony, and subsequently on the website and social media channels of Gr\u00fcndungsfabrik Rheingau and its partners\/sponsors, as well as in a press release.<\/li>\n
    • The prize winners agree that photographs and videos of the event may also be used by Gr\u00fcndungsfabrik and its partners\/sponsors following the event.<\/li>\n
    • Providing false information during registration or in connection with the submission will result in disqualification.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
